Group Training

Merits Of A Group Training

Some of them struggle to determine which exercises to do, others simply don’t know how to do them. Moreover, you also need constant motivation to continue your tough workout routine. Group fitness may be the answer to many problems you have from gym shyness to lacking motivation. A small study found that those who took part in group exercises enjoyed more health benefits than those who worked out alone. Another study found that 95 percent of those who started a weight-loss program with friends and partners completed the program. There’s some truth to the adage, “There’s strength in numbers”.

Read on to discover the benefits a group training can have on your exercise routine,

Motivation and inspiration:

Catchy music, fast-paced moves, surrounded by dedicated individuals, and an Instructor with a seemingly endless amount of energy are the best source of motivation for you. Having other people by your side to cheer you on, motivates you to do a more tough workout. Additionally, a good performance always inspires you. A group fitness instructor explains the benefits of each exercise and your sessions turn very effective which increases your reasons to complete the workout and keeps you returning to class.

Structure:

When you’re working out in your workout tops and shorts, a well-structured plan in place is what you need to see results. Normally each class is structured with a warm-up, a balanced workout, and a cool-down. The warm-up is designed to help you properly raise your heart rate while loosening your joints and muscles before kick-starting some strenuous activity. The cool-down is important in helping you safely lower your heart rate and stretching all the major muscles worked during class. It’s also thought that when members are in a group setting, they will push themselves harder because no one wants to be the weakest link in the group.

Proper Form helps prevent injury:

One of the most valuable parts of any exercise class is its trainers because they not only show proper form but also make sure that everyone in the class is executing each exercise the right way.

Accountability:

Just like personal training, group training sessions hold you accountable for turning up and putting the best effort into your workout. Accountability is a huge part of sticking to a fitness regime. Some gyms have a policy where members need to book their spots by paying for classes in advance and they even charge a pretty penny for a no show. This is a great idea for holding accountability which helps them stick to their sweat schedule. If your gym doesn’t have the policy to sign up in advance, try to find the one which does have.

Variety:

Doing the same moves over and over again can result in boredom. Adding variety to your workout is a great way to create muscle confusion, which keeps your body guessing and ramps up your metabolism, and group exercise classes are an easy way to switch things up. There is an endless variety in group fitness sessions, from cardio, HIIT, strength, boxing, core, spin,  boot camp, and Pilates – no two sessions are the same.

Variety not only saves you from getting bored but also keeps each workout challenging and enjoyable.

Promote Social Bonding:

We all need some social interaction in our lives for many reasons. Everyone, irrespective of age or sex, needs to have interaction with other people, and the gym is the best place to do some chit chat, since the majority of your time is exercising and not talking. By being part of a community, you can find support and guidance from people who have similar lifestyle goals and needs. Whether that goal is to better your health and wellness or improve your strength and endurance, there will always be someone who has your back.

Group Training

Fun:

Between the motivational music, energizing workouts, and a group of people motivating each other along the way, the atmosphere is fun, lively, and enjoyable. This is especially true for cycling or aerobics classes where people desire loud music for getting themselves charged. Similarly, you will enjoy boxing by hitting a boxing pad with your friend while smiling and laughing. When you enjoy exercise, it really doesn’t seem like much of a chore and you will stick with your routine and reach your fitness goals in no time at all.
